Protect The Cosign…What Does That Mean?

It means, you should pay the $8 and take yourself down to Brooklyn’s newest hot spot for live music tomorrow 3/29/12 and let your ears appreciate the sounds from some very talented emcees. PNC Radio, started this Protect The Cosign series back in January to do exactly that…Protect.The.Cosign. In this day in age where the term “cosign” is tossed around so loosely by artists, DJs, radio personalities, etc… It hard to know who to trust is really supporting these artists and who is just name dropping for the payola. At least we know PNC is being sincere and genuine about it. The first showcase, was at the venue formally known as Southpaw and the headlining artist was Brooklyn’s own, Torae. To show further support, other known artsits, DJs, producers and tastemakers came out as well to enjoy the show. Some of those were: Bishop Lamont, Illmind, Ski Beatz, Buckwild, Dallas Penn and Chuck Creekmur. I surely don’t anticipate this show to disappoint either. Plus, it’s hosted by Kid Potential, Combat Jack and The Company Man, who are always very witty and entertaining. Did I mention there was an open bar from 8-9pm? You should go,  even just for that. The $8 ticket will pay for itself.

Video: the panties by @marahruby

Sometime last year I found Mara Hruby on tumblr. I instantly fell in love with her cover of “the panties” and “Is This Love”. Seems that someone else fell in love w/the panties and choreographed a little sensual dance for it. Check it out.

You can download Mara Hruby’s EP, From Her Eyes on bandcamp and follow her on twitter @marahruby. And if you really like what you hear…buy tix to see her at Drom on November 15th here in NYC! Yerp!

@BREAKTHRURADIO 10 Second Film Festival Contest

Did You Know:

An iPad 2 may serve as a sushi plate, a skipping-stone, or a stupid ugly hat? Or that you can use the Flip HD Camera as a camera?

Make a video, 10 seconds or under, post it here, and you will have a ridiculously good chance of winning one (or both) of these toys, with which you may do whatever your crazy self wishes.

All you gotta do:

1. Look at www.breakthruradio.com, check out the Theme Week topic, the Discovery Artist of the week, or anything BTR related.

2. Figure out a way to integrate one of those 3 in a 10 second or under video clip (use any device, phone, camera, whatever).

3. Post the video right onto the BTR Facebook page (yes, here).

4. Chill for a bit, you deserve it.

5. At the end of each week (that’s right, this is a month-long affair starting June 6th), BTR’s team of judges will determine which video is the illest, and the creator will win a Flip HD Camera.

6. At the end of the month, someone will win an actual, real-life iPad 2 – we swear it’s legit – with apps and all.

Amateurs, pros, dabblers, and people who want an iPad 2 or a great HD camera are all welcome to participate!

7. Go Go Go! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Breakthru-Radio/206923305736
