Goodbye to NY radio: 98.7 Kiss FM merge with 107.5 WBLS
Well I knew this was coming for a long time. Just kept quiet about it. In my opinion Emmis went away from what made them the DJs and dope R&B. So now one station, How long will that last? Kiss and WBLS began simulcasting at 10 a.m. today, starting with a tribute to the 30-year legacy of Kiss. As of 12 a.m. Monday they will become a single station at 107.5 FM, under the WBLS call letters.
I grew up listening to Chuck Chillout and Kool DJ Red Alert. I remember putting a tape recorder up to a old stereo in the house to record the show. Emmis made no real attempt to continue the legacy so ratings dropped. They blame the PPM system I say the staff for not finding the sound of NY. This is what it used to sound like….
