New Joint! Panama’s “Told Her”
This record is when Panama gets on his pimp tip, tapping into his alter ego if you will. You might be able to pick up on some of his pimp lingo and make it more famous than he can. If you can’t that’s only because you just been caught reckless eye balling in a pimp’s lane. All jokes. Shout to his producer Black Jab. Take a listen, share the record, post on your facebook, tumblr, twitter or any social media profile you may be apart of.

The Jealous Guys | “Miss San Francisco”
You know me, you KNOW I HEART NYC like no other. I’m a New Yorker through and through. Can’t tell me nuffin! *Kanye voice*
The Jealous Guys, “Miss San Francisco”, is a pretty dope musical tribute to the city they love. What got me though was the video…dope!

[Books] Back in the Days Remix – 10th Anniversary
“Back in the Days documents the emerging Hip Hop scene from 1980-1989—before it became what is today’s multi-million-dollar multinational industry. Back in the days, gangs would battle not with guns, but by breakdancing. Back in the days, the streets—not corporate planning—set the standards for style. Back in the days, Jamel Shabazz was on the scene, photographing everyday people hangin’ in Harlem, kickin’ it in Queens, and cold chillin’ in Brooklyn.”

The pictures in this book are extremely nostalgic. From the bomber jackets to the jelly sandals. And if you grew up in the hood during a time before and after crack, you will appreciate the photos and the memories they bring back to you.

[VIDEO] Breathe – Donwill ft. Nicki Guiland
Not only is this guy a part of one of the dopest hip hop trios out, Tanya Morgan but he’s also one of my favorite solo artists and people.
Follow him on twitter @donwill
Click here to listen and/or purchase (the latter is my advice) his other projects.

Music! Music! Music!
Seems like this year is all about Music Festivals for me! I probably can’t make them all but I sure am going to try.
By now you should all know about SXSW (I’m not attending). If you don’t then head on over to their site and get familar…it’s NEXT WEEK (the music portion anyway)! Price wise it’s a bit expensive but if you got it or can get it then it’s totally worth going. (LINK)
April 2nd is Paid Dues in San Bernardino, CA. The line up is pretty alright! Personally, I’m looking forward to Dom Kennedy & Eternia. Go check it out for yourselves…(LINK) Price wise it’s pretty affordable ESPECIALLY if you live in California. Tickets to CA aren’t all that expensive….yet. Get on it!
I just learned of the Bonnaroo Festival a couple of weeks ago. The line up is not only diverse but kinda fantastic! (LINK) Price wise…considering it’s a 4 day festival it’s not too bad. Grab 4 friends and split that sucka! Oh did I mention it’s in Tennessee? ROAD TRIP!
Coachella! Who hasn’t heard of this! Too 21 y/o’ish for me but the line up is insane! Hey, need a reason to spend some time in Cali? Coachella is it! (LINK)
The Roots Picnic at Penns Landing! This here festival is always fantastic! Cheap and close to home! That’s what I’m talking about! Check out the line up and get you some tix! They go fast! (LINK)
Last but not least is The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. The week long festivities leading up to the festival are enough to get anyone amped. Dates and line up have yet to be announced but if I know them…they have been planning it since the day after the 2010 festival ended! (LINK) P.S. Cheapest festival around!
And remember…sponsoring me as your photog is always a great idea! LOL (I’m serious though!)

Jo

The Truth…I saw Black Milk and had to post it. I enjoyed his album very much and the fact that this post via Spin Magazine is regarding (10 Best Overlooked) Album of the Year…made me smile. Love seeing my favorite emcees recognized by larger scale mags.
Can’t wait to see what 2011 brings!
Read the list here. You may find some new artists to love!
On my iPod.
Got in my car this morning on my way to work and the first thing my iPod played for me was “Home Invasion” by Deal The Villain ft. Daniel Joseph. My morning always gets brighter when Hip Hop artists that I know come on my iPod first thing in the morning. Reminds me of why I LOVE Hip Hop so much!
Download or stream Elite Assembly’s “Welcome To The Playoffs” digital album from their bandcamp page [LINK]. Let me know what you think!

:: Video :: Black Medley – Deadly Meadly ft. Royce Da 5’9 & Elzhi
So I’m in Canada and whenever I’ve tried to view this video or any other video…it’s blocked! WTH? Anywho, I finally got to a connection that will allow me to see…sooooooo…I’m a bit late on this :: shrug :: Either way watch and listen. You won’t be disappointed!
